The Learning Collaboration (TLC) works on behalf of a group of local employers who collaborate to organise, purchase and share training and management development opportunities for their staff. Set up by local HR Directors, TLC's aim is to provide its members with improved access to high quality professional training courses at value-for-money prices.
TLC members also meet regularly to exchange knowledge and share insight of current local practise in Training and L&D within the HR function - in 2008/9 TLC members discussed and explored training, reward, coaching, mentoring, psychometric tools, career mapping, employee engagement, metrics for training and more.
TLC welcomes new member organisations - TLC is free to join and each employers pays only for the training they require.
Non members may also book courses but conditions apply.

TLC offers several services:
TLC Training Calendar
All courses on the TLC calendar are delivered in or near Cambridge by a diverse selection of recommended professional trainers and institutions. TLC course providers include freelance trainers, national training companies and Cambridge University. Members take turns to host courses, to save venue costs. TLC maintains complete independence and does not directly employ any trainers. TLC operates with three staff as a not-for-profit independent subsidiary organisation of Cambridge Network. Membership of the Cambridge Network does not automatically confer membership of TLC.

Pay less per delegate; our collective purchasing power means our members pay reduced rates for training with no compromise on quality. Many of the TLC courses cost just 1 unit (£150) per delegate, per day.

All our trainers and courses have been highly recommended and quality assured by local companies before TLC signs them up to deliver a course, providing peace of mind.
Choice:
TLC offers a wide range of courses delivered regularly throughout the year, listed on the open calendar. Members may book places as needed via a simple, online booking system on the TLC website.
Needs based:
Members may request any course or training currently needed by their employees. For new courses, TLC endeavours to source a recommended supplier and then commissions a course date, sharing places and costs with other members if required when possible.
Flexible:
In-house delivery of any course is also available on request from members who prefer courses for just their own staff. Members may also recommend their preferred trainers to TLC when requesting a specific course, subject to benchmarking.
Support:
TLC offers your HR or any staff member with practical help in planning the training function to ensure your employees develop their skills in line with business objectives. TLC staff often visit members to look at their training needs together. Immediate queries may be easily answered at any time by telephone or email.
Insight:
Delegates on shared training courses benefit from insight and knowledge from peer group organisations in the area, providing a more accelerated learning environment.
Networking:
TLC meets on a monthly basis with HR and training staff from member organisations to discuss the course calendar and explore issues related to training, development and HR. TLC offers these sessions free of charge.
Rates:
TLC price all courses in units:
Member rates: 1 unit = £150 +VAT. All new members of TLC must make a minumum purchase of 10 units (£1500 +VAT). They may then book delegate places on training courses at member rates via the simple online booking system and benefit from all of TLC's services.
TLC charges no joining fee, so all units purchased are spent purely on employee training. See here for more information about joining TLC and how members access our services.
Please contact TLC directly for all course reservations. Non-member organisations may book TLC courses for a limited trial period but do not benefit from the same preferential ratees or other TLC services.
