ScrumMaster Certification
Danube’s two-day ScrumMaster Certification course provides attendees with a strong understanding of Scrum’s basic principles and processes. Designed to introduce the fundamentals of Scrum to new practitioners, the course mixes hands-on sprint simulation and lecture. Upon completion, attendees are awarded ScrumMaster Certification from the Scrum Alliance.
What is a ScrumMaster?
Every framework or methodology has a set of rules and processes, but the Scrum framework includes an individual dedicated to making sure they are followed: the ScrumMaster. The ScrumMaster resolves impediments that obstruct the team from making progress; assists the
Product Owner in backlog prioritization and maintenance; and works to make project status and team successes visible to all stakeholders. Although this role is distinguished from a project manager by its lack of authority, the ScrumMaster is critical to success with Scrum.
Curriculum
During this course, attendees will receive an overview of the Scrum framework with particular emphasis on the ScrumMaster role. Topics to be discussed include:
• Scrum’s roles, meetings and artifacts
• Product and Sprint Backlogs
• Backlog Items and User Stories
• Acceptance Criteria
• Measuring progress and Release Planning
• Scrum adoption and its pitfalls
Intended Audience
Because the course is an introduction to Scrum’s principles and processes, registration is open to all interested parties. It is not a requirement that participants be actively serving as ScrumMasters. The entire Scrum framework is taught, but particular emphasis is placed on the role of the ScrumMaster.
